The Sounds Within the Inner Landscape of the Body
At the beginning of every practice I guide, I invite students into stillness. To pause… and listen. Not just to the external sounds around them—but to the subtle, quiet movements within. The breath. The heartbeat. The sensations that rise and fall. The whispers of the body that are always speaking, if we’re willing to hear them.
This moment of checking in is more than a ritual—it’s a way of orienting ourselves to presence. I often ask, “Can you notice what’s happening beneath the surface? Is there a sensation? A vibration? A place that feels tender or tight or alive?”
And if something does arise, I gently suggest, “Ask yourself—does this have an emotion attached to it? And if so, can you simply sit with it… without trying to fix or explain?”
This is the practice of deep listening.
Not digging or dissecting—just noticing.
Leaning into what the body is offering.
Letting the soundscape of your inner world speak for itself.
When we meet ourselves in this way—with honesty, presence, and a willingness to listen—we begin to understand what we are truly working with. In that understanding, there is space. And in that space, something softens. Something opens.
There is so much wisdom in the body.
It doesn’t always speak in words—
But it always speaks in sound, sensation, and subtle rhythm.
We just have to listen.
With Love,
Jade
