Ashtanga Yoga
Mysore-style
Experience Ashtanga in the traditional method of teaching and practicing with a modern day approach. In a Mysore-style class, students move through the Primary, Second, and/or Third Series at their own pace, under the close supervision of a teacher. The teacher works with everyone on a one-to-one basis, adjusting or assisting and helping the student in a way that is most beneficial to the individual's body and circumstances. This approach to practice offers so much more than a yoga series.
- trusting relationships
- self-exploration,
- open two-way communication
- workshop designed lessons
- education of your anatomy
This style of learning is a healthy way to advance in your asana practice. In a Mysore class, you are training yourself to take responsibility for your own practice.
Led Primary
After days of going at it in the Mysore room, Led Primary is where we arrive to clean up. We all begin the series as one unit together from start to finish.
This is pretty powerful in itself! The pace of practice is set by a traditional vinyasa count. It doesn’t leave much room for you to fiddle around with additional preparations to set you up for the pose, nor does it let you exit so quickly out of the postures you don't like. No time for distractions here!
Led Primary offers you an open door to observe the habitual patterns that develop in your Mysore practice. Every movement is instructed by a series of inhales and exhales, helping the mind take the focus from the external to the internal. When this is in place, you may actually experience the true magic of vinyasa, an effortless practice of seamless integration of breath and movement.
Remember to have fun in the process!

"I became stronger and more stable, both physically and mentally..."
“Jade’s yoga training was full of many life changes for me. Firstly, becoming familiar with the ashtanga series changed how I practice in any sort of yoga that I come in contact with. I learned how to breathe more efficiently, and I became stronger and more stable, both physically and mentally. I also learned to be comfortable with stillness and how to better quiet my mind during Jade’s training, and as someone who is constantly on the move, this was an appreciated change of pace. And finally, the guest lecturers were so cool and allowed us to learn so many things about the world of yoga. Thanks, Jade!” ~ Hillary
